GOLDEN Working Artists Program Director, Patti Brady, Publishes North Light Book
Press Releases

-- Columbus, NY, February 3, 2009

GOLDEN Working Artists Program Director, Patti Brady, Publishes North Light Book

GOLDEN Working Artists Program Director, Patti Brady, publishes Rethinking Acrylic, a comprehensive look at acrylic techniques through North Light Books, a division of F+W Media. In Rethinking Acrylic, Radical Solutions for Exploiting the World's Most Versatile Medium, Brady explores the versatility of the acrylic medium and its ability to mimic oil paint, watercolor, gouache and encaustic. This book takes artists using acrylic in traditional painting forms to a unique level of experimentation and manipulation.

"As the Director of the Working Artists Program, I have the luxury of sharing acrylic's infinite possibilities with artists every day," said Artist Patti Brady. "Writing the book allowed me to share my passion and love of thick, luscious, paint with an even broader audience, hopefully bringing increased inspiration, creativity and exploration to the art community. That's where the excitement lies - witnessing the 'spark' in a fellow artist."

In addition, throughout the pages of the book, artwork from 19 professional international artists is included, sure to act as inspiration and fodder for all readers alike. With each page turn, an entirely new technique is realized for contemporary artists everywhere.

Artist and Educator Patti Brady has developed curriculum for acrylic classes for artists and art educators. She currently has trained and manages 42 national and international artists for the GOLDEN Working Artist Program in the US, Canada, Korea, France, Austria, Spain, Mexico and the Netherlands. Her paintings and prints have been exhibited nationally and reviewed by the New York Times. She has exhibited at the Brand Library, Glendale, CA; Arch Gallery, Chicago, IL; Mills College, Oakland, CA; U.C. Berkeley, CA; and Greenville Museum, Lander College, University of South Carolina, Furman University and the Governor's School, all in South Carolina.
