GOLDEN Airbrush Quinacridone Red Gets a Formula Revision

New Dispersion for Airbrush Quinacridone Red

As we are required to do with products from time to time, Golden Artist Colors, Inc. will be making a change to the formulation of our Airbrush Quinacridone Red due to the discontinuation of the current color dispersion by the manufacturer. Fortunately, we have succeeded in sourcing a very similar Quinacridone Red dispersion from another company. This particular raw material is only used with our Airbrush Colors, not for the Fluid or Heavy Body Quinacridone Red.

As a result of the raw material change, there will be a minor shift in the Opaque Airbrush Quinacridone Red color. The new Opaque Airbrush Quinacridone Red will be slightly warmer and less blue than the previous version of the color. The new Transparent Airbrush Quinacridone Red is an incredibly close match to the prior version with no real discernable difference.

If an artist would like to achieve a pinker red than what will now be available with the Opaque Airbrush Quinacridone Red, we recommend adding a few drops of Opaque Airbrush Quinacridone Magenta.

The revised Airbrush Quinacridone Red formula will begin production during the month of July; however it may be some months before artists encounter the revised formula in a product bought at an art supply store.
