GOLDEN Adds Sr. Purchasing Agent to Operations Department

Kim Harvey recently joined Golden Artist Colors, Inc., in a newly created position as its Senior Purchasing Agent.  Harvey’s leadership in this role will provide the company with significant experience to improve many areas of its purchasing operations.  Harvey is responsible for implementing, maintaining and continuously improving a Supplier Certification Program, ranking suppliers to ensure preferential status for continuous long-term business.  Metrics will be created in order to rate suppliers in areas of quality, delivery performance and customer service.  She will be integral in projecting and budgeting future purchases for new product launches and existing projects as well.  In addition, Harvey will implement metrics to monitor the company’s current purchasing process for continuous improvement.

Prior to joining GOLDEN, Harvey gained over 20 years experience in Purchasing at Unison Industries in Norwich, NY.  Her most recent position while there was as an Indirect Sourcing Leader, coordinating Indirect Items for multiple facilities.  When a new facility was acquired, Harvey worked with its purchasing department to implement the same sources, contracts, policies and procedures being utilized in existing agreements.  Part of her time was spent working closely with contractors and the Indirect Group to ensure Environmental Health & Safety Compliance.  Harvey also possessed the skills to assist the Management Team with the development of annual budgets and capital appropriation requests.

Harvey attended SUNY Morrisville, where she completed her AAS degree in Business Administration in 2002.  In 2005 she received her Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

Harvey currently resides in Norwich, N.Y., with her husband Tom and son Aaron.
